BES BIS Question / Wireless Activations

Im new to BES but not really that new to the devices. Over the past few weeks ive been setting up a BES server on 2003 server with and Exchange server on 2003 server. Everything is up and running for the most part (im waiting on ATT for service). One of the questions that I have is will the users that I am going to setup have be able to access the server over a BIS account? I personally dont think that they will, but Im hoping that there is someway that they can.

The second question is can device/user be connected to the BES over a wireless connection? What I mean is that both my servers are currently connected to a wireless router and my device (to be used for testing) is wireless enabled, will the two play together?

I might be a little over my head right now doing all this, but I dont know. Thats why Im asking.

    wassona,

I am not much help on BES, but if you are asking can a phone on a BIS plan be activated on BES, I beleive the answer is no, the phone will need a BES plan. However a phone on a BES plan will have access to AT&T BIS services for non BES email accounts....

    Make sense?

Unfortunately thats what I thought. Currently Ive got service through TMO on a 8320 with H@Home, BIS, etc...

So by the looks of it I will have to change my plan to a BES plan and try to get it the two as close as possible.

TMO has the BES plan, all you need to do is change the BIS to BES (I think its $10 a month or so more). All else can remain the same (H@H,etc)

GaryF's right. A Blackberry with only a BIS plan can't connect to an Enterprise server. But once you add the BES plan, the device can connect to Enterprise and get BIS emails as well.

If that's true that would be great. I will contact them about it after work.

Called them and it was only and extra $10 per month to add BES
