    BES and BIS 2.5 Question?

    hey all.

i have a question and a need for your help

i am on BES with a company.... i also have my gmail setup thru BIS. I got 4.5.

the issue with my BES is that, usually if you have a different email address on a bb it shows a different inbox for each email. in my case i ONLY HAVE ONE mail box, both with my bes and gmail.

when ever i get an email from Gmail, i am not able to reply. it only gives me the option to save a draft.

since the bis is upgragding, and i m on 4.5. i am still not able to receive html emails.

is there somthing i can do get html emails?

    thanks alot

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ you should have another folder under applications for each specific mailbox. If not goto email setup, delete the gmail account and re-config that account over again and it should work fine. Also goto options-advanced options- default services. Xhoose your email as your default address. Hope this helps. PIN me if you need more help

WHen you go to options/advanced/options/default services, what service is associated with Messaging (CMIME)? Should be whatever your BES mail service is titled, usually Desktop.

It is just a name for the phone to differentiate between BES messaging and BIS/any other messaging.

Have you tried wiping your phone completely and going through the whole Enterprise Activation again?

I was wondering the exact same thing Inc. In options then General options it shows Sms and email boxes. You can change that to Separate and have different folders for each. I tried that for gmail but ended up going back to the gmail app. Did you try deleting the gmail settings in Email account setup and setting it backup?

Sounds like a policy on your BES. You may want to talk to your BES Admin.

I'm not sure as I don't block BIS mail...but ask if you policy on the BES stops you from sending personal email (via BIS). If your Admin knows his BES he will know if this was done or not.

Sounds like IT Policy. Service Exclusivity Policy Group>Allow Other Message Services.

Ask your besadmin if he has this policy set to false, I bet it is.

    Details of IT Policy
Specify whether users can use other message services on the BlackBerry device.
Set this rule to False to force all outbound messages through your organizations BlackBerry Enterprise Server and prevent users from sending outbound messages from other message services.
Warning: This rule does not prevent users from receiving inbound messages from other message services.
If you do not set this rule, a default value of True will be used.
This rule applies to Java-based BlackBerry devices version 3.6.0 and higher, and 85x/95x BlackBerry devices version 2.5.0 and higher.
