    BES and 8130e = /wrists

    Hokay,

    So I got a couple Pearls for the office here. None of them will activate on my BES server (free BES server software working with exchange 2003)

    I have read the trouble shooting pages on BB.com and other websites none of them worked. I have wiped the phone, reinstalled the BES software a couple times.

    I go to activate, phone sits there for 10-15mins and says the server isnt responding. I activate an older BB (7290) works perfect. I have the correct data plan on the phones.

    Does anyone know whats wrong with this damn thing. I really dont want to have to use BIS,

    please help before I start breaking stuff.

    Usually an issue like this is usually due to the version of the BES server software that you are running. Blackberry.com/support will allow you to update to the latest service pack for your version of BES.

    Try removing and adding the user back to the BES. What data plan do you have on the phones? Also when you begin the activation are you receiving the activation email in the user's Inbox?

    Make sure the device has a valid data signal

    I have the unlimited black berry package from verizon. I can do everything data related no problem (except sync)

    I have removed and readded the user multiple times

    I do recieve the email, with password and such.

    I'm going to see if theres a patch availble...

    Ok I Started from scratch, after running the latest update on my server.

    Still nothing. Is there a software patch for the pearl its self?

    THis is interesting, as I have the exact same issue.

    I had an end-user on Friday that I could not get activated onto the server.

    It would send out the emails with the dat and it would make it to outlook, but would not activate.

    The part that is interesting is it was also an 8130 with Verizon and we have tried everything we know to get it activated onto the server to no avail.

    yeah, i really dont get it. one of the phones is mine so its really frustrating.

    Speaking of vzw I have had a similar issue with an 8703e and the 8830. I ended up having to call vzw and talk with their data tech. He had to reprovision the BBs(maybe something else but didn't let me onto anything else). This was after dialing *228 option 2 and *22899 without any joy. Both BBs had 1XVE they would not activate. This may not be relative to your problem but this occurred earlier this week and Friday of last week.

    quite possibly, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to call them which i hate to do because it suck an hour out of my life that ill never get back.
