    BES Activation Freezes

    Greetings,

    Did a quick search on this but didn't find anything.

    Using BES 4.1 (Exchange) and a BB 8800, Activation goes well and finishes sync'ing the calendar but refuses to go any further, I have let it sit for 45 - 50 minutes with no change. Restart the sync and it gets to the same place. Anyone have any ideas?

    Try backing up the 8800. Then wipe the device completely. Options > security options > General Settings > wipe handheld

    Then try to activate. If this fails try the following in the next post...

    However, wipe usually fixes many of the issues. Then you can restore data after.

    1. Disconnect and then Wipe your device.
    2. From your desktop, go to Sart, Run and type "outlook /resetfolders" and hit enter.
    3. Reinstall the latest Desktop Manager and Device software.
    4. Reboot
    5. Start Desktop Manager, connect your device and perform a hard synch. Enterprise Activation should begin. If this does not resolve the issue confirm that you have a First Name, Last Name and Company Name for every contact in your Outlook Contacts List. The missing Contact data has been known to cause Enterprise Activation to bomb out at 70 - 80% for some people.

    In the instructions of the last post, Step 3 says to install the latest Desktop Manager.
    You seem to be running 4.1 whereas the 8800 comes with 4.2
    Before wiping, I would suggest installing DM 4.2 sp1 on your PC and try with that.
