We frequently experience slow or failed activations and delays in mail redirection to blackberry devices. Our exchange admin recently stumbled across something when generating a list of item counts in mailboxes. He discovered that there is a system folder in each BES enabled user's mailbox which is called BlackBerryMsgOnDeviceSearchFolder. In some mailboxes there are as many as 38000 items in this hidden folder. In exchange if a folder contains more than 5000 items users will experience performance problems. Can someone advise me as to what the purpose of that folder is and what the impact of high item counts in that folder might be, and what would be the effect of cleaning items out of that folder.
