    BES 4.1.4 monitoring

Just wanted to ask, do many people use the SysLog tool for BES monitoring ...?
I have recently set the Syslog tool up on a virtual PC, and have also requested nightly reports to be mailed to my SMTP address....

the logs that are genereated on the Virtual PC are 'uninformative' to say the least!!

And when I check the event logs on the BES server, I have the following entries:

    Event ID 420
Pickup Directory Status Report. In the last 1440 minutes, the pickup directory for virtual server 1 has successfully received 0 articles.
    sOURCE: NNTPSVC

I assume this is not normal ...? Any advice appreciated!

    Many thanks

I must admit I have started browsing the event log as the monitoring tools don't seem to bwe that useful .....

Nope, haven't set the SMTP services up, I guess this causes un wanted traffic / bandwidth etc etc
