    Backing up 4.1?

    Hi there!

I know the topic of backups has come up before, but this relates to BES 4.0 - the Maintenance Guide doesn't appear to exist for BES 4.0.

Unfortunately, I don't actually have access to a 4.1, only a 4.0, but I need to know how to back up and restore 4.0 for a customer... Does anybody know? A google search for 'blackberrybackup 4.1' returns THREE results!!

    Help is much appreciated!

Try the link below. It's RIM's Technical Knowledge Base. Got all the documentation you should need....and more. Hope all goes well

Can't put URL in as not Level 2 yet, but its at rim.com if you get my meaning. Then look under support for Technical Knowledge Base

The easiest method is to just backup the BES databases in:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data

You can even use Microsoft Backup as it has an open file agent to copy the files whilst in use. In the event of a corruption or a complete rebuild just restore the the files back to this path.

    The files you need are:

    BESMgmt.ldf
    BESMgmt.mdf
