    7290 - Help needed!

    Hi,

    Trying to be helpful I changed a couple e-mail/message settings on a 7290 (previously working fine). It is now being bombarded by emails from
    network@etp04.etp.eu.blackberry.net
    Subject - RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2

    I've seen this issue elsewhere on the site, and the fix for it sounds a bit extreme, as all I did was alter settings. Is there an easy solution?

    Think I've cracked it.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your interest. I had a go at fixing the problem, and have tried restoring the BB to a point in time when it wasn't receiving the network mail. This seems to be holding up, but is still receiving network mail dated yesterday. I'm keeping fingers crossed that these are just a backlog, unless anyone else has been getting back dated mail.

    The restore to an earlier point didn't work - about 100 network mails arrived once the server had caught up with a backlog of spam! Carried out the re-install of OS and all ok now.

    Hi

    New to this forum - have a unlocked 7290 - I'm LOST - I can use it as a phone on my Cingular service, but thats about it. I can not get to the Internet, I have tried to follow all teh threads and I'm in the valley of the lost. Is there help for the lost?

    First, do you have a BlackBerry data plan with AT$T/Cingular? Have you created a BIS account? Have you associated your BB with your BIS Account?

    Let us know if there is anything we can do to help with your BlackBerry.
