Your USB Port Broke on your BB

I have noticed one thing about Bb i always break the USB port on the phone.
Well right now i do not have the money to get someone to Fix it. Plus my
    soldering
Skills are not to great. I found a better Cheaper Fix to get your
    blackberry to start charging again.

First i went to http://www.wirelessground.com/ and bought a Cradle Attachment
    for Charging only.

    http://www.wirelessground.com/8800oemcradle.html

(I also got a new Clip so i do not need to use the Cloth one i got with it.)

Well today it came in the Mail....

I took step by step photos on how to rig a old Motorola USB charger to work.

Step 1. Just remember this and you will not mess your BB up.

Step 2 This is what it looks like from the front.

Step 3 Take the Back plate off the Cradle Adapter. It just clips.

Step 4 Get you Charger ready for have about a 1/2 Inch of wire to use.

Step 5 Like i said my skills lack. so just for a temp thing i just twisted the wires around the connection points.

Step 6 Make sure you have it in there right. Do not worry if the wires are switched around it will not hurt your BB....

Step 7 Put everything back together make sure you do not smash a wire...

Now just sit there and watch your Dead Blackberry charge!!!!!!!
(Sorry bad Camera i could not get a good photo of the phone charging...)

If you have any questions feel free to ask me...

    WARNING!!!!
I have only done this with the BB 8800 So i do not know if you can do this with your other BB.

Good write up. You're the first person I know of that has actually used the charging contacts on the side of the Berry!

    Nice write up.

I wish RIM would fix this problem, then we wouldn't have to engineer other devices to work. I was luck, when mine went out ATT insurance took care of it.

Yah My other BB was only a week Old it was a 8700 and they gave me a new one in the Store b/c i was starting to complain about the CS they provided... I think it chargers faster using the Side Charger. Since it is not going though the phone on the USB and it is direct charge to the Batt...

In all this cost me 13.00 that is with shipping... but they are having a summer sale.

I would love to fix the USB in Due Time but i am a Broke BB user... I had to take the internet off for a few months.... that is killing me....

But all in all 90% of BB software is OTA so i really do not need to Sync it up. Since i already have 4.5 with no probs....
