I submited an order for an unlock code (bb 8830 sprint) about 3 weeks ago with gsmphonesource.com and got an answer only 2 weeks ago thatt the average turnaround time is 2 weeks...should I wait any longer or requesta refund?
Anyone else had to wait so long?

P.s. They don't answer their phone, txt or email only after several days.

Yes, they are, but will only work on CDMA in the US since the frequencies it has for GSM are only for Europe and Asia. So you'd only have a choice between Verizon or Alltel (if you can actually get them to activate the phone for you, lol)

Sorry you are having trouble --- but XL is right - there is really no use for an unlocked sprint phone. Nor do I beleive they can help you as it is not a GSM unit.

EDIT - My Bad - I completly missed the fact that you have the Sprint World Phone with GSM....

GSMPhoneSource is a member here - try and PM him and see if you can get you answer on a refund. I would also either AIM or YahooMessenger him.

If worse comes to worse, call data support, tell them you're having problems and they'll probably have you do the ##786 wipe. This requires the MSL (unlock code). Write it down and you're good to go. Be advised that this will completly WIPE your phone. Make sure you have a backup ready.

You can unlock the GSM side so you can use any SIM when traveling outside the US.

Verizon or Alltell will not let you activate another carriers CDMA phone on their network at this time. So having the CDMA side of the phone really doesn't matter. Verizon did announce that they will be opening their network, but that is not until next summer. You can unlock the GSM side of your phone, however it will do you no good in the US. It is set up to work across the pond.
