No camera! Screw the usual "corporate" responses...they should have a camera version. I want Wifi too.

Nice, a camera would be a nice addition but wifi is deff a plus for this.

I am assuming this release has nothing to do with the Pearl model that is supposedly coming out.
What do you all think of the keys on the 8830?
I kind of like my keys on the 7250.

I like it but it's a little TOO MUCH. I would like it if they made the keys black.

Those don't look like photographs at all. They look like vector graphics...

    Re: Verizon 8830 Photos Leaked

Back when I first nabbed a Cingy 8800 I really sweated over whether I should stick with a Cingy blackberry (no voice plan) and a VZW cellphone or return the 8800 to Cingy and hold out for the VZW version thereof. I opted to gamble that the 88xx would come out for Verizon within the May-June timeframe and in the interim got an 8703e used. But now, after having used both the 87xx and the 88xx, I'm actually more inclined to wait (until September or October, perchaps) for the VZW version of the 83xx. The 88xx isn't a bad unit, but I like the 87/83xx keyboard more, I like the thickness, and the 88xx sides creak like an old barn. The 88xx looks really slick, and I am sure it will inspire lust at Fortune 500 companies all over the place, and while I desperately want to ditch the wheel I'll wait for the 83xx over the 88xx.

And btw, that silver color, even if it's remotely close, is fugly.

    Just my two shekels.

Agreed that the color is awful, but at least it's not champange or something like that.
Matte black with black chrome or faux brushed metal on the sides would be nice.

Hmm. We only have 11 partners that are 8703 users here, but this should be popular for them if it comes out in a timely manner, and Verizon doesn't try to screw them over if they need to move their numbers to these devices. We've had issues with Verizon over that before, and they always try to get us to tack on 2 year contracts, no matter where the user is time wise in their current contract. It's a crappy way to treat customers who put up with their lack of international coverage.

Now if it really does turn out to be a world device, will it have a SIM for the GSM radio? If so, whose sims will it work with? If we can just give the user a T-Mobile or Cingular when they need to travel abroad, this could be a very kick *** device.

However, I'm leery of the battery life compared to the pure GSM 8800, since CDMA phones have the worst battery life of any devices I've had to work with.

As for the creaking on the 8800, if it's creaking like an old barn door, you're holding it way, way too tightly. It won't fly away or turn to dust if you just hold it.

No camera = good for us. No wifi = good for the users since I suspect it will drain the battery within 30-40 minutes of continuous use, which is pretty useless IMO unless they can make them work with VoIP seamlessly.

The spread out keys that some of those yet to be released models have seems nice, but it's really not that bad on the 8800 once you get used to it.

It doesn't record video. Get over it.

looks really good !!! I am going to wait for the camera though. WIFI I can do without. The only thing I would want wifi for is for IM, and I get that already.
