    using 8800 as bluetooth GPS?

    Advertisement

    I use a Blackberry Curve 8320 as my primary BB, but it dosen't have GPS. My old 8800 (no sim card currently) DOES have GPS. I'd like to use my 8800 as a bluetooth GPS source for my 8320... can anybody help me out if/how this is possible?

    I've done it in the past with a friend's 8800 on a different carrier, we're bluetooth paired and I can still see his phone in my phone even though of course he's not in range, and in GPS enabled apps I can pick his phone as a source. However with my old Tmobile 8800 even when I pair with my 8320, the only "service" it says it has is "voice gateway", and GPS apps (like Google maps) don't show MY old 8800 as a GPS source option.

    Is there some setting I'm missing, perhaps on the 8800 that tells it to allow access to it's GPS via bluetooth?
