    Hi Guys
Is unlocing a BB 8820 (NEW ONE)similar to unlocking 8800. I assume they take the same code.
    Any ideas would help me.

Sure it's similar to unlock. The code won't be the same though. If each model shared an unlock code we wouldn't bother using third party unlocking services or contacting our carriers, would we? We could just post a list of the unlock codes for the different models.

However, as EvolutionCSR points out, each subsidy unlock code is unique to a particular IMEI.

I have a question, I did an unlock, it said it was successful after the entry of the code, is there something in the phone that changes so you can verify that it is indeed unlocked?

One way is to put a sim card in your phone from another carrier

I found in another post, go to the sim card in the advanced settings and do
Shift MEPD (hit the shift key for each letter) if everything comes up disabled you are good to go.

Is there some sort of unlock code or can you alter the blackberry.alx file to boost volume.

Would this work for an 8800?

Please tell me what does MEPD stand for. I did it on my O2 UK phone and everything came out disabled but I am still locked on O2. Does it make sense or nonsense.

Can the phone be reset if you enter the wrong code 10 times?
