Question Turning screen on when new email or SMS?

    Hi there

I've got an 8800 and I'm wondering if there's anyway to get the screen to turn on for any length of time when a new email or SMS message arrives? That way, if I can't actually hear my alert tone, the screen will indicate that something has arrived. Currently the screen stays off and just the little LED flashes but thats not obvious enough.

    Just thought I'd ask.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, this feature only works for incoming phone calls.

Shame. I was hoping there might even be a free app or something that does it, but looks like there isn't. But thanks.

    Nope sorry,
However, there is a few apps out there that will allow you to change the color of your indicator light depending on what type of alert it is. Not as catchy as the screen lighting up but, I find that the blue indicator light is much easier to notice than the standard red.
Good luck and welcome to Pinstack!

Not a free app, but this is a configurable feature within PocketDay -- there is a free trial available so that you can assess whether it is a worth the money for you. Personally, I love the integrated application...
