Well, Im thinking about switching from my Iphone to my blackberry 8820. I've heard about using the DM to transfer my contacts from outlook to my blackberry. Is there any easy way to do this?

I'm not sure it will work from an iPhone to a BlackBerry, but there is a Switch Device Wizard within Desktop Manager that will work BlackBerry-to-BlackBerry as well as Palm OS or WinMo to BlackBerry.

That will work, then. Once you've gotten your BlackBerry device, set up Desktop Manager to sync with Outlook and it will then transfer those contacts to the device from Outlook. You need to make sure, though that the email address you have set up in Outlook is the default email address on the device.

When you open up outlook, you can add the contact file to the outlook address book. Then just do a sync for contacts... I don't think the email address has anything to do with syncing contacts... Should work either way...

I have several email accounts set up in my outlook from hotmail to gmail and company pop... And it still works absolutely fine...
