    Question Trackball Issues

Anyone having issues w/ their trackball not working right? Mine seems to be freezing up on occasion, now it seems to happen more often.. My BB has never gotten wet or seriously dropped. I have tried the usual restart but no luck. I also took it back to a verizpn store and the employee looked at me crosseyed and didnt know what to do or say. After figiting with it awile it worked again, but that is what always happens. It shouldnt freeze in the firstplace. Is it a trackball issue or a software issue?

    Please help.

Do you keep it in your Pocket?

Yes and I just came across your Trackball Disassembly thread. Do you think that could be a solution?

I am just not too crazy about taking it apart.

    Re: Trackball Issues

If you're not comfortable with taking it apart then I would NOT do it.

You would probably better off exchanging it then.

I only did it because I'm not a fan of paying for shipping with TMO just to get another device. Also my pearl was unlocked and didn't want to bother with that again.

It will happen again if you do keep it in your pocket, I would recommend getting a holster or case if you do get a new one.

    Good luck

    Re: Trackball Issues

I do not recommend taking it apart.Try cleaning the trackball.

First press the trackball and roll it around. That will usually dislodge whatever lint or dirt is there. You can also try shooting it with "canned air".

If not dip a Q-tip in alcohol and clean the ball, pressing and rolling it around. That should take care of the problem.

Finally, buy a case and use it. Keeping it in your pocket is not a good idea.

When this happened to me, I did a free warranty exchange which took only 3 days, opposed to the lengthy, 115.00 insurance claim. It was a fast easy process.
