    TMO 8800 music player redux

TMO sent me a new 8800 and the media/audio player clicks on this one too.

You can hear it on headphones/spkr in a quiet room. Ambient sound or outside and its not very noticeable at all

It clicks at the start and end of each track, but not on the track itself.

track ends "click" silence "click" next track starts

does it with mp3 wma, the bb demo music track, audio on video clips etc

does no one else hear it?

    thanks

I have not noticed any clicking on mine but my ears are shot from years of listening to screaming loud music for the last 30 years.

Have you tried disabling the key tone, under options, screen/keyboard, key tone? It may be clicking as an indication of the end of one track or the beginning of the next track.

I had a reply from a tech at RIM in the escalation dept

    [edited]

"You are using your BlackBerry as a Media Player and are unhappy with an audible click when tracks complete....

I have tested this with numerous handhelds and experience the same thing, as expected. There is an audible click when the speaker is initialized by the BlackBerry handheld software....

Since this same click behaviour occurs when listening to any music, ending voice calls, playing ringtone files (wav, MP3 and midi) and is not affected by simple volume on the player itself, I believe that whether by design or not, there is no way to correct this issue with our handhelds. "

If you don't notice it, great-- and I suggest you don't try to hear it, because once you do it is very annoying!
