    Hi

i have a big problem with my 8800's battery life, all of a sudden since 3 days, the battery is drained really really fast. usually a full charge lasts for 3-4 days, but now the battery is half empty after one day of average use :/
do any of you have the same problem or know what this could be ?

    thx

    Re: Sudden Battery Problem

Has an 8800 but hasn't encountered problems with my battery (as of yet; had my BB since May '07), you might consider getting a new battery or taking your BB to 1 of your carrier's store so they can help you...Or better yet, get a NEW one!

Have you added any programs lately that could be running in the background?

Yeah, check for any programs you have running besides the ones that always run, phone, etc. Programs like bbweather, yahooGo, and viigo can sit in the background and poll the internet. Charge your phone then do a battery pull, see if your batt life gets better.

    Re: Sudden Battery Problem

If you have BBMaps or anything that taps the GPS, that will burn through your battery as well. Saw my battery life drop off quickly a few months ago, and couldn't figure out why, until I saw that BB Maps was still active and running in the background with the GPS on.

    Re: Sudden Battery Problem

A battery pull will completely shut down anything running in the background. Also, if you are in a weak signal area, it will take more power to maintain a connection with the cell network, and will result in your battery running down faster.

If these aren't it, it may very well be a bad battery.

    Hi,
I got the same pb 2 weeks ago. Battery down in 24 hours. I finally did a battery pull and the pb disappeared...

    Re: Sudden Battery Problem

Had the same problem. I read somewhere that these units have an internal battery memory meter or something like that. Here is what was instructed to do. Let the BB run completely dead until it will not turn on anymore. Then charge with the AC charger for 8 hours with no interruptions and with phone power off. Problem solved. I did this and I am back to VERY long batery life. Something like 4-5 days with normal usage.
