    Stolen Blackberry

I was out with friends and sometime during the night it was stolen.
I was just wondering if there's a tracking device in them, or if I could somehow find a way to locate where it is.

Check with your provider. You may not be able to locate or retrieve the device, but they might be able to fry it!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ sorry, there's no lojack type program that I'm aware of to help you ocate your device. Your provider can suspend it, not sure if they can fry it, tho.

Sorry to hear this AsianMan, next time you get another one get a clip holster for it or a leather case...but I would suspend it until you get another one and hopefully your insurance will cover it.

You can register it here: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...n_devices.html
That won't get it back to you but prevent it from being sold here

    Re: Stolen Blackberry

Well, call your provider, have them block the PIN. Should make it useless for the person who has it.
Hopefully your owner info is there (did you enter any info?) and once useless, people feel better about returning such items.

Also, if you were on a bar crawl, retrace those steps, lol. My phone has met a few bartenders in their day, patiently waiting for me to retreive it. Good luck.

No google maps use as a gps mapping, your phone doesnt send info, just tells you where you currently are

Not for tracking a phone. People can use it to track where people are from in regards to visiting your website. See gvisit.com

If you're on a BES, your admin can remotely kill/wipe the device. Always keep a password on your BB!

    Re: Stolen Blackberry

if you still have the box and stuff give your service provider a call and get them ro block it by the imei that means no one can use it at all even if they take out your sim and add another. also get them to put a block on your account so whoevers got it cant run up a bill that you will have to pay for then maybe claim it over house insurance or something say it was stolen from your garrage or something haha.

    Re: Stolen Blackberry

Make sure you call your provider and report it as stolen. You are liable for all charges up until you tell the carrier, and maybe then some. The $50 rule for credit cards does not apply to cell phones. Also, by reporting it, you eliminate the chance of someone else using it.
