    Restoring Factory Settings?

How do you restore factory settings on the 8800? I am selling it and I want to wipe everything but the factory stuff off it. (IE: my address book and pin stuff and my memo pad....and take off all the emails)

    Re: Restoring Factory Settings?

( Settings/Tools --> ) Options --> Security Options --> General Settings. Click the Menu Button and select Wipe Handheld. You'll be given a warning, click Continue. You'll then be asked to enter the word blackberry. Type it in and hit [Enter] and all data will be erased.

You'll need to delete any third party applications manually. Go to Options --> Advanced Options --> Applications. Scroll down to the application you want to delete, Click the Menu Button and select Delete. Don't reboot if asked, just pull the battery and put it back in when you're done instead.

    Blackberry 8820

i believe the trackball on my 8820 has become disfunctional.

is there anyway to reset it to default settings w/o the trackball?

hold on to some buttons and turn it on?

    thanks in advance,
    Dennis

What do you mean by disfunctional ? Do you mean it wont move at all or it moves but jumps all over the place ?

Have you tried a battery pull ?
Have you blown any dust/dirt particles from the trackball ?
I take a Q-tip with some rubbing alcohol, not to wet, and move the ball around with the damp Q-tip end to clean oils and dirt from the ball....then I take a can of compressed air and blow it dry/clean.....always works for me
