Yes, Unless something is new with the 8800, that will do a partial reset as it does for the othere QWERTY devices. It may not be as complete as the battery pull. When you do this, do you get the security test running?

Thanks though for bringing this up.

I tried it, and you DO get the 'verifying security' message...

Then there is something new. Couldn't get that with the 8700/4.1.

    Thanks

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~check your device memory before you do that and you will see that it doesn't always recover all of the memory that you gained back by deleting log files and emails and phone logs.try deleting all of the above then go check your memory, do a soft reset, check memory again then do a battery pull and look at how much more you gained back. I think you will be pleasently suprised.

I'm willing to bet that it will clean up the memory, if it's doing the security check.

Re: Reset made easy - no battery pull or software needed!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~there must be a way to do a reset just like the. Battery pull one with some kind of app. The reasom I say that is after deleting "some" apps the device reset and I get the hour glass for a while then security checks. Doing the method mentioned in this thread and others the device rests itself but the hour glass is not there for long and sometimes I get security checks and sometimes I don't. So I think the key method does not do a "full" memory flush.
