~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ While I totally agree that is weak for VZW to run advertizing saying one thing then go and do another. But, wasn't it made clear that there would not be GPS on this handset when sold through VZW on this and many other forums? I may be wrong on this so please correct me if I am incorrect. Also I beleve that I have read on the Pinsyack forums that VZW may bw offering GPS on the 8830 later this fall through a software upgrade. Just my opinion on class action suits, but from my experience in most cases, all they do is help out the lawers in the end. Again, I don't proffess to be correct on this, but I believe that these items have been mentioned on this forum. |

I am not a lawyer but being "GPS capable" doesn't mean that it will work right out of the box without additional services/software. It's up to Vz to make it capable. Cheesy, yes, Class Action, doubtful.

All phones in production have built in gps, doesnt mean you can utilize it.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Can't read the wording on my bb but if its capable then my guess is legally there is nothing we can do unless a judge thinks its intentionally misleading. Of course its misleading, but proving it is another story. Its just another example of verizon lying to its customers and charging for services that the phone is built with. Can you imagine any car company getting away with selling you a car with windshield wipers or headlights but not being able to use them unless you pay a monthly fee?? Its no different. "The all new Acura MDX, headlight capable" |

| Re: Proof that VZW advertised the 8830 with GPS
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ If you go by the advertisement presented above it says "built in GPS" which is completely different from being "compatable". If something is "built in" then it should be operational right out of the box without having to add any 3rd party software. |

Actually, I would take "built-in" to mean just that. The gps chip is built-into the phone.

I'm with you on that. It pisses me off.

Vezion ticks me off constantly. If they didn't have the best network and decent customer service, I would drop them faster than Britney Spears drops her pants! Sprint and ATT's customer service stinks! |
