Has anyone been able to do this? The wife and I have been trying with no success. We can send then but once they're received, there's no option to open them. Any ideas?

    Re: Opening audio attachments.....

Only way I know how to open an audio file attachment is through gmail (web access, not the gmail application). Thats how I get ringtones onto my phone. I email my ringtones to my gmail account, open up my blackberry browser, open the attachment and save the file.

    Hope this helps,

    Re: Opening audio attachments.....

I believe you need to send/receive the media via mms. When you receive an mms message with a media file in a supported format, such as mp3, you don't see it as an attachment, but you can open the menu and select Retrieve and retrieve the audio file. Your account must support mms messaging in order to do this. Otherwise, you can download ringtones and music to the expansioin card for 8100 and 8800s via the USB cable or via Bluetooth - I've done it via USB, but never done it via Bluetooth, but understand it can be done that way as well. You also have the option from the Media applicaiton to Send Using Bluetooth or Recieve Using Bluetooth. So, let's say you have a song or have created an MP3 ringtone you want to share with your wife, you could select that ringtone via the Media application (once its on your system) and select Send Using Bluetooth and she would go into her Media application and select Receive Using Bluetooth, etc.

I tried this and it didn't work. Are you using the BB browser or something else?

Make sure tou are browsing the full web version of gmail and not the wap friendly version. I don't remember exactly where it is but there is a link to set it somwhere.

Have you tried deleting the cookies? Maybe google is forcing the WAP version of gmail on you.

Use the "go to" option in your bb browser, and just type in google.com
Works for me. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I had the same problem. Make sure you go to "Browser Configuration" and where is says "Emulation Mode" change it to "Microsoft IE"

Changing emulation mode doesn't matter. I leave mine at BlackBerry, and have no probs. Just use the go to and it works fine. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    Re: Opening audio attachments.....

Changing the emulation mode did matter for me and my 8703 and jcarter didnt reply back yet with his results, so I was throwing out a solution that was known to solve the problem.

The emmulation did work for me. I tried deleting my cookies and everything, and I even tried on my wife's 8800 and that didn't work either. Thanks everyone!

Maybe for that model. With the Pearl it doesn't make a difference.
