I don't have bluetooth enabled, I did dim the screen and set the screen timeout to the lowest. I use it almost constantly with blackberry messenger, IM, SMS, e-mails, using gps, browsing sites such as pinstack and of course making and receiving calls. It is almost day five and only now have I received the 10% low battery LED warning. It has made two calls since, both about five or ten minutes long (and written this post) and its still going.

I love my blackberry 8800's battery life. I went from an LG KG800 that I had to charge every two days of mostly standby action with a few calls to the battery life of this device that is doing way more than the LG ever did.

    Blackberry device wins.

I'm reasonably pleased with 1-2 days with heavy useage (lots of telenav use) or 2-3 otherwise

I've only had mine a couple of days. But the battery isn't quite as robust as the one in my 7105t. I will update after a week of using it on the road.
Byw, the Li batteries in these don't have memory, but only have so many charge cycles in them. Its better to charge everyday than let it run down then charge. Just like your laptop.

I'm geussing that the battery is the same for the 8800 and 8820. I have had the 8820 for about two weeks now, and I find that with heavy phone and email/text, and some GPS and bluetooth earpiece, I am getting 2.5 to 3 days out of the charge. Although I am not letting it get down far, and I plug it in to the USB when I am in the office. Significantly better than my 8700c that seemed to need a charge once a day at least.

Question Re: Ok, it's been over a week. How's your 8800 Battery life?

I only get one day with no BT, though lots of emailing and net-cruising. Anyone recommend a good second battery...does it have to be the same one? Someone is selling Blackberry® 8800 Battery with ASP™ Technology claiming to have 20% more juice.

I get 2 days with my 8830 during normal use. Does using a bluetooth headset increase consumption?

I was just traveling and forgot my charger. I am getting about 36 hours with little phone usage and high email usage and no bluetooth. I am looking for a high capacity battery before my next trip! Luckily I was able to charge my phone via usb on my laptop!
