I am getting rid of my 8800 today and switching over to the 8300.

I would like to know how to get all my email addresses off this unit. i also need to know how to copy the entire address book over to my sim card, and then once i get the new unit, transfer back to address book.

    Can someone please help me.

    thank you,

    Emails:

Click on "Set up Internet Email" from their you can delete away

    Addy Book:

If I'm not mistaken when I tranferred mines to my sim card I had to do it 1 by 1 (yeah i know sucks but...)

    Hope this helps.

The best thing to do is the wipe the device. Options-Security Options- General Settings-Wipe Handheld. Type the word "blackberry" to execute.

The only thing that will transfer to the SIM are phone numbers. And you have to transfer them one by one. The best thing is to sync to Outlook. Or just make a back up of your BB by using the Desktop Manager. That way all the info will transfer over to the new BB.

The best method is to use the Switch Device Wizard in Desktop Manager 4.2. Your SIM phone book can only contain one name and one phone number for each contact. That's it. No email, no addresses, nothing else. Plus, using the SIM phone book you have to copy each contact one-by-one. There's no need to go through all that hassle when the wizard is specifically designed to properly handle all this for you.

Syncing to Outlook is a good alternative.

If you're a BIS user, log on to your carrier's BIS site and transfer your account to the PIN and IMEI of the new BB.

Once you've confirmed that all of the above is done, do a device wipe on the old BB and you're done.
