Major issue with 8800, BIS on T-Mobile UK

    Hi everyone,
I've had a 8800 for about one-two months now on T-Mobile in the UK (after having had a 8700 on T-Mobile UK and a E61 on Connect on O2). I've been using the same settings all along on BIS, be it on T-Mob or O2, ie my personal Gmail account, and one T-Mobile Instant Email account to which all my professional emails are being forwarded to. I've had almost seamless push-email functionality so far, and have loved every minute of it.

However, for the past couple of days, for no reason, emails are being sent and received sporadically. They can sit on either inbox for a couple of hours before my blackberry gets them. Or I will try to send emails, which sometimes will go out and sometimes just sit there and do nothing. I then would get an error message saying "unable to connect to service".

At this point I would like to point out that I have another 5 BBs in my office, and they all work fine from where we are. I get GPRS in caps, full reception, etc.

I've run diagnostics five minutes apart from one another either at home, in the office or outside. The results are mind-boggling:

Basically, what I can gather is that my blackberry registers and unregisters whenever it damn pleases.
I talked to T-Mobile for about an hour, had all the service books deleted and resent, flashed the firmware, and had the unit exchanged this morning to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Dan

I do indeed. I was in France this weekend, roaming on Orange France, and had the same problem still.
    Many thanks.

I've just gotten off the phone with T-Mobile and they have finally acknowledged that the problem is more widespread than they initially had thought. I'll keep you updated.

I had an issue with mine too the other day - but I did a wipe handset and had the service books sent to the phone and all appeared ok after that.

I also did that, to no avail. Webcash on this forum has similar problems, and quite a few other people I know on T-Mobile do too. However, no other UK network seems to be affected.

I believe I have the same issue: data connection just randomly drops off and:
"GPRS" still shows up as reception indicator but I get "not connected for BIS & BES in the Mobile Network (Connections) status screen. When this happens, chats stop without warning, emails won't be sent or received (you get the clock face and eventually a red X).

It's fixed by disabling and re-enabling the Mobile Network connection (untick and retick the box). BB restart works, too.

This *only* began after being connected to BES after working fine for weeks using BIS only. Battery pull doesn't prevent the problem from recurring. Please help.
