    Low Res Attachments

I have an 8800 and regularily receive pdf and jpg attachments.

However, when I try to read, it is so low res, I have to wait and read on my laptop.

Does anyone know how to view attachments in high res?

Once you open the attachment, Click the wheel/menu button and select Full Image. If it's still unreadable, hit I to Zoom In (O to Zoom Out).

These are the keys for a full QWERTY keyboard device. Not sure what they'd be on a reduced keyboard device (71xx/81xx), but you can use the Menu's Zoom command to zoom in and out also.

That's as good as it gets, but I've usually been able to read the attachments.

pretty sad...I used a Nokia 9300 for the last 3 years, and never had such issues. Looks like I might go back...I can't even edit excel files on this thing!

You can edit Excel files - you just need to get a program for it. Check out eOffice.

I haven't had any problems reading attachments since the first color BlackBerry came out five years ago. That said, they can be trying. I haven't tried any attachment enhancing programs (I find what I have usable), but Handango has one here.

Once you zoom to the location you want to read, press the menu button and click on enhance. The only problem with that is you can't scroll, you have to go back to scroll and enhance again.

not to hijack your thread, but why does the BB not ever give a full res pic. in the first place. I mean thats why we have the data plan. I also have to hit Enhance to get the full quality of the picture. It sucks that RIM would design it this way.

I agree, when someone sends me a pdf attachment, obviously it is meant to be read. Blackberry is nice, but I think Nokia is better. At least I can edit excel sheets in Nokia without having to buy further software.
