Hey Guys is it possible for the theme of another carrier (T-mobile) be used on ... Blackberry 8800 & 8820 forum

    Hey Guys is it possible for the theme of another carrier (T-mobile) be used on another carrier's device eg. (Cable & Wireless).... i really like the zen theme with the icons at the bottom T-mobile has and would like to have it on my device.... pls let me know if y'all can help me in finding it if its possible......

    Ok.... so when u say unlock that theme... are u saying that these themes are hard coded in the device and jus needs to be unlocked?.... or do you have to download it from somewhere....

    yep, they are hardcoded
    everyone has access to them, they just have to be 'unlocked' by placing YOUR vendor code into the coding in the blackberry.alx file

    rcbjr's tutorial ROCKS and is super easy...post back here or in that thread if you have any problems

    I'm using Vista with the DM 4.3, upon editing the blackberry.alx file its not allowing me to save the edited info even with full Admin rights... and when i use MS Word it save as an additional txt document.... pls help



    Also what if the hte existing Vendor ID is smaller than urs(eg. 131 vs 102), do u still put it in front?

    Well, have you tried to just delete the .txt after saving it. As long as it's saved as a text and when the App loader looks for the blackberry.alx file, it finds it, you should be alright.
