I was going to upgrade from my 8700g to the 8800...now I'm going to wait for additional features to be added. Anyone know how sales of this phone are going for RIM?

There's only been one carrier in the U.S. that's been able to sell any.

I know that the local stores in Nashville can't keep them in stock. They have a long waiting list,

I'm in South Florida with lots of Cingular stores. I bought my 8800 two days ago and had to call all the stores. Most wer all sold out, one had 5 (now 4)!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~It seems Cingular stores in and around NYC can't keep them in stock either. Not sure if it's because of corporate orders getting priority over retail channels but I would imagine production is probably still limited.

A lot of the lawyers I work with have been buying them. Its full key board and GPS, now without the camera they have no problems in court.

I actually meant from RIM's point of view. Like compared to the 8700 series, or the 8100 series...i.e. # of units per week or month vs. sales estimates. I was just wondering if many people are holding off now that they have heard about the 8300, etc.

Yeah, I played with one and I definitely think my 8700g is far easier to crank out a message. The keys were too close together! I'm waiting for the 8300 for sure!

Here in Charlotte, every Cingular store I've visited had plenty of 8800's in stock. Also plenty of red Pearls. I haven't seen any out in the wild, I would think they'd (8800's) be more popular around here with all the bankers and lawyers.

Same here in LA...tons of 8700's, but no one I know has an 8800 and all the Cingular stores in my area have them in stock...no problem. Maybe the 8300 is causing people to hold.
