Re: How to setup pop account

You have to go to the "Setup Internet Email" to set up your personal accounts (at least on the 8100 and 8700's, should be the same for the 8800).

Re: How to setup pop account

If you go to the blackberry wap browser, you can set them up from there also if you have no option in the regular menu. My 8700c was used and didn't have that option but as soon as I went to the web on the bb wap browser it gave me the option to set it up. Of course, my experience and knowledge is based off of Selling and using T-Mobile and Cingular service. I know on T-Mobile you can also log into your account and set it up online there, not sure about Cingular since I have always done it from the phone.
If you just activated the service, it could take up to 48 hours to be able to do the initial email setups depending on the system back-log.

    Welcome to the stacks easyoff.

Do you have a data plan, if not you will not be able to do any of the above.

Data connection refused normally means that a Blackberry data plan is not provisioned (either not requested, the carrier improperly provisioned, or there's a data outage). You'll need to resolve that first.

Which carrier are you with? Someone can provide your carrier's BIS URL which is a lot easier to use when integrating email accounts with BIS than the BB itself.

When you provision your 8800 with your network provider - they should push you the "Email Settings" application. In addition, you should have Blackberry Internet Browsing Service" in your Service Book. Go to OPTIONS - SERVICE BOOK to see if you have it. Otherwise, you'll need to call your network provider.

Do you mean they don't support any blackberry's or just yours? If they don't support any blackberry's then you are just going to be out of luck. They have to have a blackberry server in their system for your unit to be able to access the internet in the first place. If they won't support your model, you just need to convince them that you have one they do support and have them send the settings for it. As long as it is the same version OS I believe it should work fine but don't quote me on that.
