    Home Screen Shortcuts

I am supposed to be able to get to certain functions from the home screen by typing a letter. All shortcuts work fine except when I type C to take me to compose a message it takes me to my address book. how do I fix this or am I just doing something stupid?

That should be right...it takes you to your address book, then you select the person you want to send an email to. At least that's how it works on mine. I believe this way though, whoever you choose, it will do the last thing you did to that contact, such as SMS, email, whatever.

If you want to do strictly email, try hitting M, then C.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I must be doing something wrong. I have the 8800 with TMO
From my home screen if I hit a letter it brings up the contact list with those names that start withe letter I pushed. If I hold it down it ask if I want to assign a speed dial # to that key. What do I do to fix this?

You need to go to your Phone Options > General Options > Set Dial From Home Screen to No.
