Make sure you're using the right adapter. The 8800 headphone jack takes a plug with four conductors. If your adapter has less than four (there should be three black "rings" on the plug) then that's probably why it's not working (or not working quite right).

The end of my adapter that plugs into the BB has three rings on it. Does that mean there are 4 conductors? Or should there be 4 rings? Thanks.

I also received a set with my Tmo 8800. Fit is difficult to rate as no two ears are the same (not even your own!) but I've worn them regularly for the past two weeks, couple hours at a time....no big problem.
The sound quality, I find to be, pretty decent....especially being OEM. I've paid for worse, lol.

The metal between the black bands are the conductors.

I want to use noise cancelling headphones for when I fly so the stereo headphones that come with the phone don't quite cut it.

Sent my seidio adaptor back as it was not working well at all and they sent me a new one. It is really nice. I am getting stereo and much more volume thru the earphones. Just using my basic ipod earphones with the seidio adaptor.

Seidio service people were very nice and courteous as well.

Re: Head phone options for 8800 ?

    Hey all,
I just tried a 2.5mm Adaptor from Palm that I used with my treo, it works but only gives me Mono, Right side... It is the right type of plug its looks IDENTICAL to the one on the headset that came with the phone has. (I have cingular and got a earbud with inline mic, to bad its not sterio)
I want an adaptor to 3.5mm so I can use it in the car also... Im just concerned if the sedio adaptor or any others out there might just wind up to be MONO. Can someone confirm that the phone does indeed support stero?
    Thanks!!

Yes, again, the Seidio adapter works. The adapter's plug needs to not only be 2.5 but it needs to have four conductors and they really need to line up properly.
