Do you run a Today theme? I don't really care about having more than one theme (my own blend). But I know deleting the zen theme really messes with things. Too bad, too, it's a monster - like 1541 kb or something.

I'm also curious about the setupwizard deletions. Have you noticed any issues from deleting those?

Do NOT delete the other mentioned setupwizard (whithout appl).. You wont be able to access options at all if you do..

Im running the zen theme. If you delete all theme files, you have to move one theme back and do a os reload.

I would say, leave the zen.

Phone boots much faster now. Btw: I also got 10apps loaded.

I flashed using the ver in my profile (on wap now) , newest ver from Trigcom. Multilangual.

only left the zen theme yes.

But i'm guessing if vendor.xml contains your carrier and a theme set for them, you'll have to change this. My carrier wasn't listed in vendor.xml so I didn't have to do this.
(this is my understanding of vendor.xml, but I did no changes to the file).

offthahorseceo: sorry for not coming back to you, I didn't see the question.
Like wu-wei said, this is Voide Activation Dial, I don't use it.. so I saved some space on that one

Re: Finally OODLES of free space

Hey, does anyone have a way of getting the original version of this file? I moved it from whatever folder it was in and it's now on my desktop. I also searched for the picture files and they're not there. Neither are the language files or any of the other stuff you guys are talking about here. I'm losing my mind at this point, because I can't get back memory

Re: Finally OODLES of free space

I deleted what was said in this thread, and It's still not removing anything. I go through the loader and it just says no action required. I tried removing the lannguages as well as the voice dialing (_vad) files, and it just refuses to work. I even reloaded my OS through the Verizon website. NOTHING. I've posted about this in several thread already, If anyone can help a newbie, it will really be appreciated. You can PM me or whatever, if it's more convenient...
    Thank you guys in advance!

Re this post and your post above, the only way for you to get the file back is to uninstall/reinstall the OS from your PC. It must be completely removed and then once reinstalled, you will have the restored file.
If you need help with that, let us know.

Per your post above, you must not be following the OP's post exactly. I've done this memory clean and it went through with no problems as long as you follow it to the T.

I've quoted his post specifically the instructions below:
    move the following out of
C:\program files\common files\research in motion\Shared\Loader Files\ (YOUR OS VERSION) \Java into some other folder elsewhere. As one person said.. make a unused folder and move that stuff in there.

    net_rim_bb_media_tunebundles_qualcomm.cod (Ringtones)
net_rim_bb_media_8830_320x240_b.cod (Those evil Locked pictures under Media)
net_rim_device_apps_games_brickbreaker.cod (Blah.. it was better on the swivel blackberries)
    net_rim_device_apps_games_brickbreaker8700Resource s.cod (See above)
    net_rim_theme_bbdimension_today_320x240_b.cod (Don't use it)
    net_rim_theme_105_zen_320x240_b.cod (Don't use it)

If you get theme-delete happy DO NOT DELETE, you can play around with deleting it.. Then you'll understand what I mean as far as black and white and small icons
net_rim_theme_bbdimension_zen_320x240_b.cod (THIS IS ESSENTIAL, DO NOT DELETE)

Once you're done moving files around:
    1) Open the Desktop Manager
    2) Click on Application Loader , click Next
    3) Click Next again
    4) You'll see some items its going to delete , Click Finish and let it do its thing
    5) The blackberry will reboot and just check your memory.

Try this again after your OS reinstall and remember when running DM don't click ADD, just click Next and let it run.

Re: Finally OODLES of free space

I just removed ALL of the VAD files from my Pearl (I don't need VAD since I
use a BlueTooth headset anyway). I gained 5412984 free Bytes, going from 20210592 Bytes free to 25623576 Bytes free.

Ok, I guess I need help reinstalling the OS. Will this mean I'll have to wipe my BB?
(I did search for reinstalling OS)

I think the problem lies in the folders. I get to research in motion, but I don't have a folder named loader files. I have "Java" but it's in "simulator", which I think is not it...
