    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
    Affirmative, it seems to be a bug on the OS of the 8800, this has happened to me quite often when checking the service status via bluetooth and i have asociated it to prolonged service time of the phone without having the battery pulled out (usually 4 to 6 days).

    Also a very important issues is that the 8800 never looses the BIS or BES signal for real (unless the systems were down, out of service radio, poor signal, etc), i have checked this and when the phone indicate me that there is no BIS/BES service, i keep receiving/sending emails, surf internet, BB messenger IM, JiveTalk, Opera continue as function normally.

    We have to wait until RIM offer an updated OS that fixes this issue.

    In my case i have tried Cingular, Rogers and T-Mob OS version and they keep having this Bug.

    ps: when you turn off/on the phone, it indicates again that you have BIS/BES coverage, for the moment do not give it attention unless you see that you do not receive emails etc.

    Cheers

    What exactly do you mean? Where are you checking the status?

    You have to know what are we talking about...

    Manually:
    Manage connections -> Service Status

    Bluetooth: (Voice Dialing)
    Check -> Status
