i had the same prob when i first got my BB pearl. You need to call your providor so they can reconfigure your account to make sure you are connected to their internet network. they will ask you to do a few things with your phone and then reboot it by taking the battery out and turning it back on. Defineatly call them though.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ if you are in the UK, Blackberry is not even on PAYG, Blackberry works different as other, you will need vodafone to activate your Blackberry service to even use the wap browser.

What you need to do is:

Option 1. Use your 8800 as a normal phone only text and phone.

    Option 2. Return your phone.

Option 3. Get a contract and add bb plan (voda is too expensive for bb).

    Safe....

P.s. The easiest way to check if you are online, check the GPRS if it's capital on your phone under the signal bar.

The blackberry 8800 is not even officially released in most stores in the UK such as the car phone warehouse, phones 4 u, etc....so will it not be available for Pay As You Go in a few months time when they do get released to those major mobile phone stores?

    P.S. thanks for the advice

    Regards

No, it's not about which phone that you have, mobile networks just won't have BB on PAYG, because it will be difficult to pre charge for BB service, check out o2's business shop, Ł15/month, you get unlimited BB email plan.

Right -- AFAIK no carrier (regardless of country) offers BB data on post-paid accounts.
