LOL. Don't you think is BB users are getting a little greedy. We are getting all excited about upgrading pearls and 8700s to the 8800, while other cell phone/PDA users suffer with their outdated, inferior technology.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I called my local Rogers guy in Waterloo and he said in all likelihood the 8800 release is in March 2007. Sucks to be up North, cold and long wait ...

Probably in March 2007 if for the Rogers version but the cingular one is soon to release. Actually I think it will release in sometime during this month. Or it might have already has released. I think I read that it has but as you all may know by now, I'm never positive about anything, LOL!!

    Hope this helps,

    COJO 24

P.S. One more thing...I also want to know whether the 8800 will have a camera or video camera or BOTH!!!

    Thanks in advance,

I agree and that's a lot for me since I said I would never own another full keyboard device (but the 7105 I was using at the time decided to break before the 8800 came out) LMAO

Ok. So I'm greedy. I only bought a pearl because my 2 prior bb's broke. I was really looking forward to the 8800 but its lacking anything more then a full keyboard. (yes that's very important to me). But what happened to WiFI? 3g? I think I built this up too much.

As a happy user of the glorious 8800 for the last month, I must say its great, although I don't fully need the full keyboard, the larger screen is key. Highly reccomend itm

I like both toys, but I guess I would stick to my Pearl for the meantime. The 8800 looks really tempting, but wanting to reply on messages while driving a stick is something I do. So suretype is fine for me now.. Besides, I'm really waiting for the 9xxx series to come out soon..

But yeah impulse buyer here, so well see lol

They're going to need to improve the processor to make it a worthwhile feature.

The Crimson/8820 is what you're looking for.

Funny, I seem to recall another thread along those lines...

I'm trying to hold out for the Crimson/8820 myself. I don't need the camera but I don't want to sit there thinking "what if" with a plain ol' 8800 (ha! whatever that means).

3G was never a feature on the 8800. Besides, it's a moot point as the processors on the current models are the bottleneck.

I'm not sure what you expected of the 8800. It's basically a full qwerty 8100 (without camera) but that shouldn't be a surprise as RIM has always released SureType models and their full qwerty counterparts since the 7100 came out. WiFi isn't on Cingular's 8800 but will be on later releases.

Definitely research and don't get all worked up over hype...

Re: Compared: BlackBerry 8800 & BlackBerry Pearl

I think the 8800 will attract the users that havent bought or switched to the Pearl yet. I think the Pearl was aimed at users who like a device more phone based but still capable of doing the little extra things the older BB's do. To me the 8800 is a newer model of the older BB's. (which didnt include a camera) But thats my opinion. Hopefully it makes sense in what Im trying to say. What do I know? Im a newb to the BB world!
