    Re: Bluescreen Crash after sync with VISTA

    Hi twillingham.

    Yes Vista is compatable with the DM 4.2.
    I'm not sure yet what those are telling us?

    Can you give more details?

    Was the phone still connected to the pc at shutdown?
    were there other apps running at the time.
    Which version of DM do you have?
    Which phone model (even tho we are in the 8800) you show 7520?

    thanks

    Are you using Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 1?

    Did you right click the Installation package and select Run as Administrator?

    Version 4.2 SP1 is the only version officially Vista compatible. If this isn't the version you're running, uninstall the version you have and delete all the directories associated with the app before installing the new version:
    * C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion
    * C:\Program Files\Research In Motion
    * (Not on my Vista machine at the moment - but look for other Research In Motion directories under Users and ProgramData or whatever that directory is called - I'll try to update later)

    And don't forget to run the installation as Administrator!

    And, are you using 64-bit or 32-bit. I know some people are(were) having troubles with the 64-bit drivers, which might be fixed in the Service Pack 1. I know I'm running 32-bit windows Vista Ultimate, and it's working smoothly...

    I can confirm that the 64-bot version of Windows Vista does work with Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.2.1. I was using Outlook 2007 and a Blackberry 8707g to test it.

    I haven't had any problems at all running Vista and my BB. And yes, it does work with that version - at least so far, so good here....

    Re: Bluescreen Crash after sync with VISTA

    It's always easier to blame Microsoft than the 3rd party software vendors for not making their software compatible with Vista within the 2 months where it was released to OEM, ISVs, Business, Developers and many others...
