    Best price to upgrade?

So I'm 6 months before I can qualify for an upgrade. Does anybody know how one can get the cheapest price to get the new 8800? 550.00 seems a lot for a phone!

    Re: Best price to upgrade?

I have had a manager overide the terming of my upgrade period. In both cases it was about close to six months. The criteria they gave me was consistent bill payment and a decent plan in the past 100 or so dollars. Give it a shot!

 I tried calling Cingular without any luck.
I'll try stopping by my local store, otherwise I'll have to wait
By the way I've 4 lines of service and 0 late payments; go figure!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Cingular can do an exception upgrade if you complete half your contract. You will get one year pricing but you sign a two year contract. Find out about that. I offer that to customers sometimes.

I would tell them that I'm going to switch carriers and see how they are going to act

Or wait 6 months. Then the 8800 won't be the new thing. The price will be lower and you'll have a better chance of getting a deal. Ha, I'm not patient like that, so I don't know why I'm suggesting you to be!

Let us know how you make out at the local store. With 4 lines and a clean payment history, they should work with you.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i ended up going to my local store and the manager over there was able to overide the upgrade. So now I'm the happy new owner of a 8800! Thanks for your suggestions everyone!

It's a lot more effective if you're out of contract and they can't slap you with the ETF...
