~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~no because your BB doesn't check for email. For BIS accounts it all happens on a server and then the BB is contacted if mail is to come down. This is one reason that BBs get such great battery life.

What type of email accounts are we talking about?

I have my work email being pushed from a Hosted BES and I can set the hours (ie: 5am - 9pm) and frequency (every 90min) of when to receive my email right from my BB. I even have a different schedule for weekends.

And with gmail mobile, you can hit the menu button>more>settings and set it to always keep me signed in and preload messages and check mail in the background. This keeps your gmail current.

Where do you set that? It might be specific to your BES hosting provider.

From what I understand, BES should push instantly. Accounts integrated via BIS can take up to 15 minutes to poll though gmail and Yahoo are exceptions as they should be pretty much instantaneous.

If you forward to your *.blackberry.net address it should be instant though you can't reply via the original account (replies will come from your *.blackberry.net address which you shouldn't use except for forwarding).
