    BB 8800 info through Cingular

Here's the quote from my source in Cingular:

"The 8800 called the Viper is to be out from our side in March. It is like the pearl but with a qwerty keyboard and is GPS enabled. The first we have like this. We do not have a price on it as of yet."

Can anyone yet verify they are hearing that as well?

I won't be meeting with My Cingular/RIM people til the end of next month, so I can't verify anything yet.

From what I understand, RIM has told Cingular Feb, not march. But that was a few weeks ago.. Maybe something delayed it recently. I'll try to find out today if it's changed.

Dr Woo, if you have the ability to find out when it might show up on Verizon as well, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Paperboy, while I've actually heard a possibility of this being on a CDMA carrier in the next 6 months, I'll believe it when I see it. This is also the first time I've heard the term viper. I've heard 3 other names that are all over this board. But first I've heard that one. Maybe its the 8820 that's been bantered about?

    Toddboy71,

According to my Cingular source, he says it's the first version of the 8800 BB without WiFi or the Camera. The Next version will be out around May/June.

I should have some answers by the end of February from both Verizon and Cingular.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~what about the 8820 who cares about the 8800. Also I heard from a store owner in Chicago IL that tmo is going to introduce a plan that allows all wifi enabled phones unlimited minutes in a wifi area the. The name of the plan and its start date were not released to me but that would be perfect, a new beery and unlimited data and talk

I think that you are refering to TMO Hotspot@Home service. The last I heard its going to go national sometime around March.

Yes that's correct. From what I've heard the only serious downside, is that it's going to be expensive in the beginning and then depending on how many subscribers sign up there could be price reductions after the first year. They seem to feel than enough people will pay a steep premium for being the first "on the block" to have this new service.
