    This is like a game of stump the experts.. and joaquin0306 wins. I aksed Gary to help and I am glad he responded. Even if the outcome was not as hoped.

    Since it is under warranty I would suggest you do as you plan and bring it back. I would also suggest you print out and take this page from BB with you: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...00%20101672953 That way you can show them you did your homework and followed what RIM said.

    I hope this part works out correctly for you. Please update us when you get the new one.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~yeah this is a very odd situation. I know your 8800 is still going to be under warranty as long as you bought it through your carrier or through rim. I'm looking into a few options and let you know if I found a solution.

    Hi guys,

    thanks for all your help.. I've sent it to service centre and it seem that they can't also fix the problem so they're going to replace the unit itself. I assume there is some hardware problem involve in here. Anyway I'm just chilling here now and waiting for the replacement unit to come.

    i don't us jl commander sounds to me llike the flash memory is bad have you tried using a different usb port and cable?

    Hi there fellas, thanks for all your feedback. I think there is a problem with the hardware itself coz even the engineer from the shop where we bought it couldn't do the reinstallation of the OS so they gave me a new one which is nice....

    I cannot get my BB 8830 to load OS Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]

    I am trying to follow the instructions in all of the posts covering the 507 error code but I have been coming up with this "Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]".

    I have wiped it and tried reinstalling all different ways that are explained with no luck.

    I am dieing here, can anyone help Please???
