everytime i have to do a battery pull, the booting up process is a pain and the phone shows the hour glass for centuries. I have to constanly pull and press the power button several times before i ever see the Tmobile logo come up.

What is up with that? RIM should include an actually software reboot program saving the time to open the casing in the back. Especially with invisible shield full body armor. I have to pull the plug to preview a theme? thats to much work, its just a theme!! yeesh!

are you running the latest software for your device?

do you have a ton of 3rd party apps or stuff on the media card?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ the BB is pretty slow at starting up from a battery pull. My laptop from off to fully functional in under 30 seconds.

If u need a quick restart without pully the battery, try ALT + CAPS + DEL.

Same here with my 8800. Usually takes about 2-3 minutes which feels like 12-13 minutes really.

    They did. ALT-RightShift-DEL

I've never had to pull the battery. Not once (except to swap the battery).

i know this wouldnt help in the actual reboot time but you can download Soft Reset which is just an app that does the same thing. you dont have to pull the back off or pull the battery, just click the button. it would save some time.

You're probably doing a hard reset (battery pull) in cases where you don't need to. The long boot up time is expected from a hard reset. It is, in fact, the whole point of the hard reset as everything has been completely shut down and the BB has to perform a cold start. There is a lot of loading and checks that have to take place with a cold start.

As other have suggested, try a soft reset instead. Alt-Right Shift-Del.

In some instances, a battery pull is necessary but I don't think it is in your case. Why are you pulling the battery when previewing a theme? I've never had to do this with any of my BB's.
