Accept meeting request without sending reply?

Eveytime I select a calendar request and accept it, it automatically emails the person who originally sent it (either to me, or to someone who forwarded it to me)

what can i change so that automatic "Accepted" "Declined" or "Tenative" isn't automatically sent to the original meeting maker?

just guessing, disable data in options -> mobile network, set data to NO.

accept / decline the invite, your outbox should then contain the message.
Delete it, and turn data back on.

The whole point of accepting is to notify the scheduler. If you just want it on your calendar then just delete the request.

Takeshi: What you are suggesting is the exact behavior I'm looking for. However, when I delete the request, the meeting is removed from my calendar. I want to "accept" the meeting but I don't want to send a response. Could you explain how the meetings are staying in your calendar even when you've deleted the request?

Whoa, scary, I just posted a new thread on this on this very subject.

It appears, and I need this confirmed, that if you choose "check calendar" forum the menu, then choose "save" from the calendar menu your entry will be added and no one will be notified.

Let me know if this is the case

I think another option would be to create another email address.. then have your work email forwarded to this address and then change the reply to in BIS to your work address. When accepting or refusing an invitation, it should appear as if coming from your work address.. But I can't be 100% sure of this.

Lightbulb Re: Accept meeting request without sending reply?

I see the very same thing.

    Here's what I've noticed:
    1. If someone send me an invitation from a BB, it lets me choose (Accept, Decline, Tentative, etc.)
    2. If someone send me an invitation from Outlook, it lets me choose (Accept, Decline, Tentative, etc.)
    3. If someone send me an invitation from Lotus Notes, it sometimes lets me choose (Accept, Decline, Tentative, etc.) I suspect it's a specific version or Notes that either got better or worse. I've had problems with Notes-Outlook Calendar translation for years and this is just one of the extremely frustrating anomalies that I've learned to live with.

Shampoo, I responded to you on your other thread as what you and I are trying to do is very similar.

I'd really like to suppress some meeting invite responses. That would be a worth feature.
