8820 - Water damage, where can I get repairs?

Well after getting my 8820 (recently bought for FULL retail) without insurance it fell in water. Luckily it dried out and turns on fine, I just had to reload the software with the Desktop Manager. However when I press keys on the keyboard, they don't do what they're supposed to. Is there anywhere I can send this to have it cleaned or to have the keyboard repaired/replaced? AT&T and RIM do not offer any repairs (even when I offer to pay). Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Now the keyboard has stopped responding altogether but the trackball still works.

How long did you let it dry for? Did it fall in salt water?

Take the battery out and let it dry for about 3-4 days. People have suggested lots of things: Hairdryer (on cool), put it in rice (to absorb the water), search for water and you'll find lots of tips.

I let it dry out for 3-4 days, also dried it with a low heater. The screen wouldn't even turn on a few days ago or connect to my PC and now I succesfully loaded the OS and the keyboard appears to be the only busted thing. How much longer should I wait for it to dry? I'm wondering if it didn't permanently damage the keyboard so I would need a replacement. It's a company phone (they paid for it) so I can shell out the dollars to get it repaired if it saves us from buying a new one.

EDIT: It fell in clean toilet water.

I'd prefer not to screw with it because it definitely looks salvageable so I want a pro to handle it, I would probably break it!

It may not be cheapest but there is always BB Repair shop. http://bbrepairshop.com/. You can look to see what they would charge to put a new keyboard in or give them a call. The website lists a new keyboard at $55 which is cheaper then a new phone. Hope that helps.

PS - Welcome to the stacks.

I'll probably check out the repair shop. As you said it's a lot cheaper than buying a new phone.

After letting it dry out even longer it appears the keyboard is back to working status...amazing.

You'll probably have issues with it down the road...

That's OK because it's my work phone. After this point it won't be directly attributed to me!

Well it was working perfectly now when I click on the trackball it acts like I pressed the U key. Does that sound like I just need a replacement keyboard?

That wouldn't be so bad and makes sense since the U key is close to the trackball but the screen has started blinking on and off and the other strange thing is that when I press the back key it types "HL" and those keys aren't even close to the back button...

EDIT 1: After further testing the only buttons that appear to be working incorrectly is clicking with the trackball and pressing the back key. All other buttons appear to function properly...any idea to fix just those two buttons?

EDIT 2: Now none of the buttons are working and the phone is going haywire. It should be completely dry by now, what's the problem? Why would it go from working to freaking out and back again constantly? It's all over the place.

That road was a little shorter than I thought, the electronics are probably messed up due to the water damage. It was going to show it's ugly head eventually. I've seen somewhere posted here how to take apart and clean the phone's board and contacts, but I can't find it right now. Hopefully someone else may have a suggestion, or it may be new phone time.
