    8820 and UMA on Tmobile

I am asking because I was thinking of upgrading to the 8820 from my 8800 and saw that UMA was available but wondered if it would work with Tmobile service since it is an AT&T branded phone. I have not bought the phone yet so I did not know if it was possible or if it was a seting or additional software or perhaps pushed through service books, etc. Sorry for the noob question, thanks for your help in advance.

Good question- You would need to get the ATT unit unlocked in order to use the TMO network (and of course be a TMO subscriber) however once that is done I beleive that any unit with WIFI and UMA features should work with the H@H service, as all it is is UMA - and in checking RIM's specs this phone does support UMA.

Currently, your unlocked 8820 won't work for tmobile UMA service. It is because tmobile doesn't have service book specially for 8820 to work with UMA. It has been tried by several members here with 8820. You have to wait for tmobile to release 8820. In theory, 8820 should work, but we need the service book to establish service.
