My new 8820 just came in.. Will be reading the manual and testing this weekend.

First thing I notice is it has spell check and Wi-Fi but otherwise its the same as the 8800. I'll update more as I use it.

    Re: 8820

I got all excited for a second when an employee called me from a local corporate store. He said they still haven't arrived & he would let me know Monday if they come in.

    Re: 8820

My 8820 came from our at&t rep. So far its just like the 8800. I haven't found any "Have to buy because of this". Construction seems very solid. It doesn't have the squeaky sides that the older 8800 had. Will this replace my curve? The answer is no. This thing is heavy compared to the curve.

I was wondering what the OS on the 8820 is? Is it the same OS as the 8800 or does it have the spellchecker and better media player?

OS is 4.2.2.169 and has spell check and desktop folder creation not sure about the media player. I'll take a look after I load up some music.

having a problem connecting to Belkin routers though, linksys works like a charm..

    Re: 8820

I tested the GPS on its own and was very impressed in the speed that it loaded satellites. I had accuracy of 1 meter within seconds of doing a refresh. Ten times faster then my old 8800.
