I like having options, but the built-in cam -- unless it's at least 3 or 4 MP, is a here-and-there thing at best. I carry a Nikon 6MP digicam with me for work but on weekends, like Takeshi said, it would be nice to have a CrappyCam built in so I could take pics of something to make sure it meets my girlfriend's approval

I'm not really sure WiFi would be beneficial for people with unlimited BES/BIS plans; for people with limited plans WiFi makes sense, but as it's been stated above, I can't see any cell carrier offering it. We're talking about companies whose main source of income from customers is finding ways to charge them on a per-minute and/or monthly basis. How would a wifi device make it to the market, and why would any carrier justify it? As was said earlier, they'd prolly meter it (at an equal or reduced rate) which would IMO limit its usefulness in the first place.

Based on that rationale, my vote is for camera, unfortunately.

Guess this is a moot survey anyway. The 8820 will be the WiFi-equipped BB in this family and the camera-equipped model will be the 8830/8300 (official model number to be determined still).

I don't actually care about either of these as much as getting 3G (that's usable, of course, eg. battery life). However, I would prefer WiFi as I will always have a camera that performs better than a phone-cam. WiFi doesn't matter much as I'll only do an unlimited plan and don't want to go wandering around for a WiFi point. However, WiFi would be very useful at home so while others are on my computer, I can still get high-bandwidth browsing to read news, post to fora or whatever.

My BB is my work phone. Get tired sometimes of the slow web access thru EDGE. I'd prefer the wifi on my work phone. That way, I can play even more games in meetings while I look like I'm working.

I'll use my personal phone for photos.

CAmeras are fun, but no thanks....I'm a photog and carry a real camera with me. WiFi isn't for me either. Nice, but I don't use my phone to access the web or use it with my PC at all. Surfing on a phone isn't my idea of fun either. Just to look up movies, news, weather, etc...regular is fine.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i swore I would get a wifi phone but after expriencing edge I really don't see the need for it. Edge satisfies me as far as speed. Cam is a nice accesorry but I've had no use for it on my previous phone. I'm happy with the 8800

I would go with the Wifi Only to have a nice BB without the camera so it can be taken into any of the federal buildings that you can't have any type of camera in.

is there any news of an 8800 with camera coming out? I personally foudn that using opera with my EDGE network is actually FASTER then my MDA was with wi-fi.
