Personally I am waiting for the 8800. I'm in no rush, though the anticipation is killing me.I want the features of the pearl with a full QWERTY. Your mileage may vary. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Since you already have the pearl I would wait for the 8800, unless you arent too stuck on the multimedia features.

Just stick it out, if the rumors are true the 8800 wont disappoint

I had the 8700 (dropped-now gone) and am impatiently waiting for the 8800 while suffering with my 7100. Definitely wait. The question is, until when?

Me personally, as much as I love the 8800, the lack of the camera function kills me! Now when they have the 8800 with the camera, I'm there, til then it looks like Ill be losing a lot more sleep than you future 8800 users!

    Re: 8800 vs 8700g

I'm trying to make this decision right now. I'm on a 7290 currently and here's my take:

Reasons to get the 8800 (Cingular):

    -Smaller form factor (small +)
-Trackball (not sure if this is a positive or negative)
    -Plays mp3 files (small +)
-GPS (not sure how big of a deal this is for me)

Reasons to get the 8703 (Verizon):

    -Cheaper price (small +)
-Better network for voice (in LA where Verizon is generally thought to be better than Cingular)
-Scrollwheel (not sure if this is a positive or negative)
    -Better/bigger keyboard

I'm not sure who has the better data network/web browsing capabilities. I'm guessing Verizon but not sure.

Anything I'm missing in my comparison here?

P.S. If I wanted to occasionally use the phone as a modem for my laptop which phone would be better?
