    8800 PTT Question

Hey everyone, does anyone have a Cingular 8800 with push to talk, with another carrier, like T-Mobile, or otherwise not have PTT not active? I have a TMO, and a cingy 8800 on the way. Am I going to have issues? Is the PTT key re-assignable to another funtion, or will it just be a useless button? Is 8800 OS software similar between the different providers? Thanks! Andy

    Re: 8800 PTT Question

I dont think T-mobile supports this feature.
You wont have any problems Schufly. You can reprogram the key to to launch any app on the phone

You can find this in Options > Screen/Keyboard > Convenience Key

I reassigned mine to be the keylock and have found this assignment to be most helpful.

I use "K" as shortcut to lock the phone. Althought dont use it, too many keys to push to unlock

    Re: 8800 PTT Question

I have a Cingy 8800 with PTT, i'm not sure if it will be able to cross networks (normally they don't allow this). But just an FYI, Cingular (AT&T) has not yet figured out the whole PTT technology yet.

there is another thread that has ppl upset with PTT
