8830, its the perfect upgrade for the pearl user, who has been waiting to strech there fingers across a full keyboard without losing there cam, or multimedia function. Plus the bb is still small, and the functionality is there!

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
8800: creaks, has keys that fall out, and at one point the #1 reason for returning them to Cingular was to go back to the 8700.

8300: since nobody has really played hard with this its an unknown commodity.

And I didn't even discuss the features where the the 8300 trounces the 8800.

    Hmmm...

Considering that no one has used the 8300 in real life day-to-day use and shared it on these BB forum sites I don't know where bartokbatt's gettting his info. My 8880 is perfectly fine. There's no way to assess build quality isses of the 8300 until it's actually released.

Compare the features and specs and pick what fits your needs/wants. No one else can really answer this for you unless you can provide a list of what you're looking for.

keys falling out???? I have never had an issue with my 8800--It really depends on what you will need in your BB. If you like the GPS feature then 8800, if you like the camera feature then 8300--like others have said, no one knows the build quality of the 8300 until it's been released

I am very happy with the 8800 and as far as I can tell the multimedia specs are the same.

I owned the Pearl hated the keyboard, got the 8800 and very very happy. I find the GPS nav very very handy. I just wish all the GPS solutions werent tied into being on the network. I find myself needing it in places where there is no network coverage.

Keys falling out..lol no, creaking mmm haven't noticed. Im in the Marine Corp and find my 8800 very durable. As for no camera well I never used the cameras I had on my other cells so I don't miss it. I have a 6 megapix camera that is smaller then my 8800 for pics anyhow.

    8800. No contest.

The 8300 reminds me of a Treo. And I REALLY hate Treos.

EDIT: My 8800 has no issues. The first one I had did, (first week of release), but the one I have now is solid. I personally have not heard of keys falling out on an 8800, and I personally know about a dozen 8800 owners, none of whom have had that problem.

i've had my 8800 about a month, i never thought i'd say it but it makes my 8700 look soooo slow.

A lot of people seem to mistake speculation for fact.

    Re: 8800 or 8300?

I have played with the 8300 for about 5 minutes. I like the color contrast of the keyboard so I can find the numbers compared to the 8800. The materials looked cheaper made like the 8700. The PTT button looked like a cheap plastic but felt good when pushed. The screen was clearer than my pearl and 8700. Didn't have it next to a 8800 but the crispness and brightness looked the same or very slightly better. My new plan is to ditch the 8700 and keep the pearl for work and 8300 for personal. That telenav is a blast to play with.
